Leading BPM. – Impressions of BPinPM.net Conference 2014

02_KeynoteBringing experts together, exchanging knowledge, and gaining new ideas from other business areas is the ongoing spirit of the BPinPM.net conferences. In November 2014, the third conference was held under the motto “Leading BPM” and we welcomed over 80 experts from diverse industry and business areas as well as the social sector in Lufthansa Training & Conference Center Seeheim in the area of Frankfurt.

Dr. Bernhard Krusche from the association “NEXT SOCIETY” started the conference with his thought-provoking keynote “Quo Vadis, BPM?”. He encouraged the audience to think outside the box and to be open-minded towards future trends like the digital age and its implications for personal life, business, and BPM. – As result of the discussion, we will pick up this topic in 2015 to further explore how BPM can prepare for the next society.

Based on the findings of the study, we will invite you to join our best practice workshops beginning of 2014. Finally, we are going to introduce the results at the third BPinPM.net Conference in November 2014.

Impressions of the second BPinPM.net Process Management Conference

Under the headline „The smart BPM Conference“, the Process Management Alliance, the University of Bamberg, and Lufthansa Technik welcomed 70 experts from various industry sectors to discuss the latest development and best practices in process management. The conference took place on September 10th to 11th at the Lufthansa Conference & Training Center Seeheim in the area of Frankfurt.

At the beginning, each expert received a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet for note and picture taking, and to interactively participate in surveys during the conference. “What a great idea to support such an event” was the main feedback of the participants while receiving the tablets. Invitation to the 2nd BPinPM.net Process Management Conference

BPinPM.net Prozessmanagement-Konferenz 2013Driven by the awesome feedback of last year’s conference, we performed additional Best Practice workshops and gave our best to set up an attractive agenda for a second BPinPM.net Process Management Conference for German-speaking process management experts.

The agenda is designed to share the workshop results, to present best practice examples from companies such as Infraserv Höchst, Cassidian / Systemunterstützungszentrum Eurofighter, SAP, and Lufthansa Technik, as well as to facilitate know-how exchange by process management experts.

2nd BPinPM.net Conference – Save the date!

Thanks to all your positive feedbacks and requests for a follow-up event to last year’s conference in Seeheim, we have started to take action and are proud to now officially announce the date for the 2nd BPinPM.net Conference for process management experts.

The conference will take place on September 10/11, 2013 at Lufthansa Training & Conference Center in Seeheim in the area of Frankfurt.

To address both, last year’s participants and new process management experts, we will have a look on how the already discussed subjects have developed since last year and introduce new results of our Best Practice in Process Management workshop series. We plan to cover a variety of different process management areas, from fundamentals such as a company-wide defined process model and connection of processes and organizational structure to specific issues such as process performance measurements. On September 21th 2012, the BPinPM.net initiative welcomed 80 process management experts to the first BPinPM.net Process Management Conference in the Lufthansa Training & Conference Center Seeheim.

To get started, Prof. Dr. Tim Weitzel from Otto-Friedrich-University of Bamberg presented a key note depicting severe impacts of inaccurate IT project management.

Structured into the four topics of process modeling, integration of normative and legislative requirements, organization-wide defined process model, and process management roles, nine exciting and informative lectures followed. Integration of Requirements into Processes – Best Practice Workshop Key Findings (Video + Slides)

The second topic we discussed in the first Best Practice in Process Management workshop was “Integration of legislative and normative requirements into processes”.

As in the first topic, all organizations introduced the way of integrating requirements into processes, presented examples as well as strengths and weaknesses. Summary of results of Best Practice in Process Management survey

The identification of Best Practice within the area of process management and the exchange of experience between process management experts from different organizations are the targets of cooperation between the department of Information Systems at Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg of Professor Dr. Tim Weitzel and Lufthansa Technik AG.

As basis for the identification of Best Practice,  following four sub-areas of process management were evaluated by process management experts in an online survey in August and September 2011:

  • Operating management system (platform, process modeling, roles, system training, maturity models, acceptance)
  • Governing processes (process targets, enhancement, standardization, compliance)
  • Managing processes (KPIs, risk assessment, audits)
  • Leading people to achieve process targets (training, communication, feedback)
