Together with eight fearless BPM experts from four different organizations, we went on an exciting journey to bring together Digital Age and BPM. Supported by Dr. Willms Buhse and his experts from doubleYUU, we have developed a number of possibilities to combine web 2.0 and social media features as well as digital leadership aspects with business process management.
Today, we are going to introduce the results of this workshop series in more detail. – And please don’t miss the chance to win a copy of the inspiring book “Management by Internet” by Willms Buhse at the end of this article. The book covers a lot of the aspects, which we combined with BPM and provides practical examples how to benefit from the Digital Age as a manager. In a growing number of organizations, focus of BPM is moving towards leadership oriented topics to increase acceptance and benefit of process management systems. Basics like process modeling and compliance management are already quite mature and widely discussed. Thus, we are going to put the motto “Leading BPM” into reality and will pay attention to upcoming areas such as “real” BPM training (not system training) for employees and management, change management aspects, and activities to strengthen acceptance of BPM systems.
To facilitate these topics, we joined forces with BPM experts from business areas like engineering, finance, aerospace, social sector, and chemical industry to perform a number of workshops to identify best practices. Combined with latest insights from scientific world and practical examples, results of the workshops will be presented at the 2014 BPinPM.net Process Management Conference on Nov 24/25 at Lufthansa Training & Conference Center Seeheim in the area of Frankfurt, Germany.
In addition, we will focus on future-oriented BPM topics and present detailed results of our “Digital Age BPM” workshop series which we have performed in cooperation with digital leadership expert Willms Buhse and his doubleYUU team. In a group of five organizations from various sectors, we experimented with bringing BPM and digital age aspects such as social media, web 2.0, agile management, and mobile devices together. Results are quite fascinating and will be presented on day two of the conference. Continue reading “Leading BPM – Agenda of 2014 BPinPM.net Conference revealed!”
This week, we are starting a new project to foster process management awareness in the education and social sector. – The BPM2thePeople Award is our prize for best practice examples that increase the quality of processes in organizations from education or social sector.
The winner of the award serves as an ideal for other organizations and supports the future development towards full establishment of BPM in these sectors.
Nowadays, many organizations from education or social sector are still afraid of such topics and feel insecure about implementing BPM projects to encourage the management of their processes. – It is time to change that thinking, now! Good news: We found fearless BPM experts!
Two weeks ago, we met for the first session of our workshop series. After getting to know each other and understanding the process management systems in the different organizations, we started to familiarize ourselves with the possibilities of web 2.0 and social media in the context of BPM.
After dreaming and dreading what the future might hold for us, we began to design useful approaches of embedding social media in process management environments. The initial skepticism faded after we generated many applicable ideas – but was not washed away. Our main goal became manifested in one word: Benefit. Whatever we are going to design, the premise is the advantage the users are gaining by applying it. Continue reading “First results in pushing ‘Digital Age BPM’ ahead!”
We are looking for fearless BPM experts who are interested in joining a workshop series to dive into the young field of “Digital Age BPM”!
Target of this workshop series is to explore the potential of web 2.0, social media, and digital leadership elements in the context of BPM.
By implementing these elements, we expect good chances to influence the acceptance of BPM within an organization. Thus, the workshop will aim to increase the maturity of this very young topic, to develop and evaluate prototypes, and to facilitate its cognition.
Potential elements are a function to “like” processes or to “tweet” comments on processes, the implementation of blogs for communication with process participants, or the usage of tablets for modelling and training. The fantasy is not limited! Continue reading “We need your support to push “Digital Age BPM” ahead!”
Results of the BPinPM.net Study 2013 show an impressive increase of current and future importance of “Change Management in the context of BPM”. Along this, five other topics which were already discussed within 2012/2013 best practice workshops made it again into the top cluster (Cluster 1) of the survey. Continue reading “BPinPM.net Study Results: Change Management becomes more and more important in BPM”
